MOLECULE Core vs Reflex vs Engage: Which MOLECULE Mattress Is Right for You?

MOLECULE makes cooling mattresses in three lines, and we carry seven models across them. The names can blur together, so here is what each one is, how it feels, and who we point toward it. We are an authorized MOLECULE dealer and every one of these is in the Billings showroom.

The lineup at a glance

Model Type Feel Best for
Core 10 All foam Medium-firm Value shoppers, guest rooms, warm sleepers
Reflex 11 All foam Firm Back and stomach sleepers who want lift, not sink
Reflex Pro 12 All foam Medium Combination sleepers, hot sleepers
Reflex Elite Hybrid 14 Hybrid Plush Side sleepers who want a soft surface without trapped heat
Engage Hybrid 12 Hybrid Medium-firm Any position, wants contouring plus coil support
Engage Pro Hybrid 13 Hybrid Medium Pressure relief without losing alignment
Engage Elite Hybrid 14 Hybrid Luxe plush Side sleepers and couples who want the most cushion and cooling

Every MOLECULE mattress has a cool-touch cover and comes with a 100-night sleep trial. Prices per size are on each product page.

Core: the entry point

The Core 10 is MOLECULE's entry-level design: a medium-firm all-foam bed built around a three-zone support layer and a breathable comfort foam, with a moisture-wicking cover. It is for people who want essential support and a cool surface without paying for premium layers. Good for guest rooms, first apartments and anyone who likes a medium-firm feel. If you want deep plush cushioning or a coil feel, look further down the list.

Reflex: lifted, responsive, cool

The Reflex line is about a buoyant, on-top-of-the-bed feel with airflow-focused foam.

  • Reflex 11 is firm. Airflow comfort foam over targeted support and a reinforced edge. For back and stomach sleepers who dislike a stuck-in-the-bed feel, and for hot sleepers who want a firm surface.
  • Reflex Pro 12 is medium. It adds phase-change cooling that responds to your body temperature, plus pressure relief and zoned gel support. This is the one we suggest to combination sleepers who change position through the night and want cushioning without losing the lifted Reflex feel.
  • Reflex Elite Hybrid 14 is plush. Phase-change cooling and luxe memory foam over zoned gel support and individually wrapped coils. Built for side sleepers who want a deeply cushioned surface that still feels supported, and hot sleepers who want soft without trapped heat.

Engage: contouring foam over wrapped coils

The Engage line pairs high-contouring foam with an 800-series wrapped-coil system, so you get precise contouring in any position with responsive support underneath. Every Engage has a removable, washable cool cover.

  • Engage Hybrid 12 is medium-firm and the entry point to the line. Back, side and stomach sleepers who want adaptive contouring with coil support.
  • Engage Pro Hybrid 13 is medium. Five inches of contouring foam, active phase-change cooling and a five-zone support layer. For sleepers who want more pressure relief and more cooling than the entry Engage without giving up spinal alignment.
  • Engage Elite Hybrid 14 is MOLECULE's most luxurious design: a luxe plush euro top over double-layered phase-change cooling, dense contouring foam, zoned support and wrapped coils. For side sleepers and couples who want the deepest cushioning in the line, a stable edge and the most cooling technology MOLECULE offers.

Foam or hybrid?

The all-foam models (Core 10, Reflex 11, Reflex Pro 12) feel more contoured and absorb motion well. The hybrids (Reflex Elite, all three Engage) feel more lifted and responsive, with sturdier edges and more airflow through the core. If you share a bed, sit on the edge a lot, or sleep hot even after fixing your bedding, lean hybrid. If you want the closest contouring at the lowest price, lean foam. Our guide on why you sleep hot is worth reading before you decide cooling is the deciding factor.

Which one should you pick?

  • Firm, back or stomach sleeper: Reflex 11.
  • Medium-firm on a budget: Core 10. Medium-firm with coils: Engage Hybrid 12.
  • Medium, moves around at night: Reflex Pro 12 (foam) or Engage Pro Hybrid 13 (hybrid).
  • Plush side sleeper: Reflex Elite Hybrid 14. The most luxurious option: Engage Elite Hybrid 14.
